At this point, you’re more than likely questioning why I have written an article about a variety of cosplaying dogs … It would be natural for you to question my state of mind; to wonder why the editor of a highly popular entertainment website spends his time looking at dogs dressed in costumes…
If it wasn’t for it being a dull, rainy Monday afternoon, I would be inclined to agree with you. However, it’s sometimes nice to step away from serious opinions of movies, comic-books and all things ‘geek’ to make a gloomy Monday a little bit brighter.
I present 10 Dogs In Hilarious Movie Character Costumes!:
1) Chiwawa Dressed As Tootsie
The classic comedy / drama, Tootsie, stars Dustin Hoffman as a desperate actor who dresses as a woman to find work.
This much loved film has now been meticulously reconstructed by the owners of a Chiwawa.
2) Bulldog Dress As The Scarecrow
The Wizard of Oz continues to be adored by each subsequent generation. Enter the proud owner of this pissed off Bulldog who has been dressed as the Scarecrow.
If only dogs could speak…
A part of me is so impressed with this costume, that I hope that if Disney ever remaster the Ewoks from Return of the Jedi, they employ an army of dressed up Shih Tzu.
I’ve been catching up with a lot of kids films recently with my son Jack. With the exception of Pixar, most of the films are too cutsie for me. However, there is something magical about Winnie The Pooh and it would seem that the owner of this sleeping puppy agrees.
5) A Dog Dressed As A Tauntaun
Another happy dog… this time posing as a Tauntaun from The Empire Strikes Back. This popular costume also features a miniature Luke Skywalker.
6) Pug Dressed As Freddie Krugar
If it wasn’t for the miniature version of the iconic claw glove, you could be mistaken for thinking that this is a fashion conscious Pug. However, the owner has gone to great lengths to ensure that their best friend is dressed in an accurate and highly detailed costume of Freddy Krueger.
7) AT-AT Greyhound
It would seem that Star Wars fans can’t get enough of dressing their dogs as characters from the films. The owner of this Greyhound has made a custom costume of an AT-AT Walker for his dog and has went to great lengths to ensure that others can copy his design.
Behold a Pug dressed as Teen Wolf!
9) Marlyin Pugroe…
As the old saying goes: ‘You don’t look at the mantelpiece when you’re poking the fire’.
Keeping in the tradition of altering the entire DC universe, some comic-book fans have suggested that this is a leaked picture from Batman vs Superman.
