Riding high off the festival success of “Green Room,” writer-director Jeremy Saulnier has another reason to celebrate, as A24 is re-teaming with him for an adaption of William Giraldi’s novel, “Hold the Dark.” A24 will be releasing “Green Room” in theaters next year, meaning “Hold the Dark” will mark the second collaboration between the distributor and the director. Macon Blair, the star of Saulnier’s breakout “Blue Ruin,” will handle screenplay duties.
Set in the Alaskan wilderness, “Hold the Dark” centers on an expert hunter who goes searching for a child who has been taken from their village by a pack of wolves. His dangerous journey leads him down an arduous path where the relationship between man and beast must be tested. The book was released in 2014.
