Watch: ‘Scrubs’ Creator Bill Lawrence on How He Conned His Way Into Hollywood

He started off by writing for classics like “Boy Meets World” and “Friends” before creating his own classic, “Scrubs,” for which he received two Emmy nominations. That’s an impactful career in television lasting over two decades — and we didn’t even mention “Cougar Town” or “Undateable”!

In his sit down with Sam Jones, it becomes clear that Lawrence always had a fire to succeed in him. He wrote 10 spec scripts before he even sought out an agent. Even being let go from the “Friends” writing staff didn’t bring him down. As he recalls, “I was still a dumb kid that didn’t realize it was somebody else’s world.”
